Hi,

the directory ".exp" must not exist before you
export the database. BUT you need
write permissions in the parent directory.

I think, this has something to do with RedHat 7.0, I have the same problem
since upgrading vom RedHat 6.2 to 7.0 running IDS 7.30UC10.

1. dbexport error 208 (mem. alloc error)

Hello,

Maybe somebody can help us with the following problem.

When we try to use dbexport on an Informix-Online 5.0 database with a few
hundred tables ( running on Unix system-V release 3.1 ) we get after about
45-60 min. ERROR 208 with the message :

"MEMORY ALLOCATION FAILURE DURING QUERY PROCESSING".

( BTW: we get the same error when we try to create a dbschema )

We already tried without success to increase the following parameter in
the UNIX kernel :  SHMMNI increased from 100 to 200 .
SHMMAX is at 0x7fffff
SHMSEG is at 40
( which, I believe, makes SHMMAX * SHMSEG = 320 Mb per process ).
( SHMMIN is set to 1 )

In tbmonitor we have about 24 Mb shared memory allocated.

Are there any other parameters that should be changed ?
Thanks on forehand on any hints/input you might have !
