Perl DBI-0.93 DBD-Informix-0.58 on SCO

Perl DBI-0.93 DBD-Informix-0.58 on SCO

Post by Bernd Zimmerman » Sun, 31 Dec 1899 09:00:00

My System is:
System = SCO_SV
Release = 3.2v5.0.4

I have got Perl 5.00404 downloaded from sco skunkware 98 (may 98).

DBI-0.93 compiled and installed without problems.

Now I want to get DBD-Informix-0.58 running.

    perl Makefile.PL ... runs without problem

    make ... no problems

    make test ... results in ALL ERRORS:

PERL_DL_NONLAZY=1 /usr/bin/perl -I./blib/arch -I./blib/lib
-I/usr/local/lib/perl5/i386-sco_sv/5.00404 -I/usr/local/lib/perl5 -e

...........install_driver(Informix) failed: Can't load
for module DBD::Informix: dynamic linker: /usr/bin/perl: relocation
error: symbol not found: getspnam at /usr/local/lib/perl5/i386-s
co_sv/5.00404/ line 166.

What is wrong? 'getspnam' is in libgen.a on SCO ... I am
no GURU but can ask for this to be loaded???

Who is out there with a solution?
Many thanks for help in advance!

We have SCO-OpenServer 5.0.4. I compiled my own perl with the optimizing
compiler icc. Dynamic loading do not work with cc. See also comments in
hints/ of perl-source-distribution. My version fails at some
(hopefully minor) tests. Until now I have ignored this. I have compiled
and tested successfully DBI-0.93 and DBD-Informix-0.58.

1. DBI-0.90 and DBD-0.58 Interface for Perl

is there anybody out there who uses the DBI and DBD-Informix
Interface on HP-UX 10.20. I tried to compile it but it doesn't work.
I think that the standard HP-C-Compiler is not good to compile this.

If there is anybody who compiled this, can he tell me what to do, or
can I get the compiled version?
