Hi to all,

I have just installed IDS -7.30.UC5-1 and have encountered the error

25591: Transport control received an invalid connection address.

Can someone please tell me where I went wrong ?

Also, I encounter another error below when I run oninit.
Please advise. Thank you very much. :)

The problem is you have installed the engine in /opt/informix but the
ONCONFIG file still says to look for the ALARMPROGRAM in /usr/informix.
I'd guess that you did not edit the ONCONFIG file to match you
installation or at least missed a few items.

Please quote platform information.  Since the version you are
using is 7.30.UC5-1, you must be on Linux.  Almost certainly
time to upgrade to 7.30.UC7-2 which fixes the problems with
NET VPs.  Downloadable from Intraware...

1. Error 25591: Transport control received an invalid connection address when accessing database via seipcpip method

Hello,

ive installed an Informix SE 7.24UC5 server on a Linux system (SuSE 6.2
with Kernel 2.2.10). Ive defined two methods
to access the server in /usr/lib/informix/etc/sqlhosts

infse_local     seipcpip        lb-is01.jetsys.de       sqlexec
infse_net       sesoctcp        lb-is01.jetsys.de       sqlexecd_se

If INFORMIXSERVER is set to infse_local and i call dbaccess and then the
DATABASE -> SELECT dialogue i got error 25591. There is no problem if i
start the sqlexecd and set INFORMIXSERVER to infse_net.

Is there something wrong with my sqlhosts entries for the local
connection?

Greetings, Joerg
