 Hi,

 I have a simple problem that I'm not sure of the answer.  I have
 been using an old version of informix (3.3) on an old Intel running
 Xenix 3.5 Operating System.  
 I want to purchase a DOS version of informix, but am not sure which
 version to buy.  The choice is 4GL or SQL.  I think the SQL is the
 one I want that will come closest to doing what my old Informix program
 has been using......which is simple databases and somewhat uncomplicated
 report writing.

   You will want SQL.  3.3 morphed into SQL (I-SQL) and is not really all that
   different.  3.3 had "ace" and "perform", SQL has "sace and sperform" .
   You will have to make some modifications (ie: "read" becomes "select")
   but the conversion should be pretty simple.
