Assuming the engine is up and running, any onstat command will display the
full version number, e.g.:

onstat  -

Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.30.UC7   -- On-Line -- Up 09:31:24 --
48384 Kb

the best way to get version number of IDS is

        oninit -V

This command displays also the patch number of your engine
( if you have installed a patch) e. g.:

        7.31.UC4X1
