Hi Folks!!

Big problem - Ive installed IDS 7.30UC7 on Suse Linux 7.0!

Database runs fine, dbaccess does have a connect! But Im not able to
connect the db server with a W9x/W2k Clientmachine.

Error message is 908,  Service port defined ist 1824!

I tried to connect with telnet  (telnet server 1824) but every connection
will be refused!!

Any ideas?!!

CEBIT eh? Things always break when you want to demo them. I
couldn't go because we left it too late and thare are no flights
left at all that day.

Anyway, error -908 is a generic "can't connect" message about
network connections, and the error text says something about
tinkering with INFORMIXCONTIME and INFORMIXCONRETRY. I've never
seen anyone bother to do that though, because it has always
turned out to be a network configuration or OS level thing.
Either addresses or authentication (my 2 cents as they say).

But I'm not very good at this, so try looing at this (it's for SE
but the network stuff should still be good)
