Before I had to reformat my HD I saved my .wab and .wa~ files that were in
my Windows/Application Data/microsoft/Address Book folder and I tried to use
the Import feature to get them back but it just gives me an error that says
it can't be imported. I realize I didn't use the Export feature so is there
a way I can get my Address Book back?

Steve,

Move the WAB files to the location of your choice. I've actually started keeping them on a separate drive.

Close Outlook Express. Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WAB\WAB4\Wab File Name

In the right pane you will see an entry for (Default) Right click on the word Default and select Modify Type in the path to where your WAB file is located, including the file name (example: d:\oemailandnews\Address Book\Doug.wab)

Open OE and your address book should be as before.

That can happen if the saved *.wab file was created by OE5.01 and you try to
import into OE5.0. You message headers indicate that you are now using
OE5.0, which is installed with Win98SE. Upgrade IE and OE to 5.01 and you
will be able to import the *.wab with no problem.

Thank you Doug and Tom! I think Tom's right though, after my reinstall I'm
back to IE5.0 when I was using 5.1 before, when I get the time to download
5.1 I'll give it a try =).
