error loading device driver ndishlp.sys

When starting Windows 98, the message:  Error loading
device driver NDISHLP.SYS appears with Error 7323   one or
more network transport drivers failed to load.  I do not
have a network system although Windows installation puts
the files on the hard drive.  I do have a dual boot system
but XP works fine.

How can I fix this?  Please help.   Thank you

I am getting an error on start up which refers to a device
driver not loading, ndishlp.sys config error.  Can anyone
tell me how I fix this, or whether this is a necessary
file (translation....can I just delete it, without doing
myself harm?)
