Please help!
Norton anti-virus has found the following virus in my
computer system
C:\windows\absr.exe (Virus)
C:\windows\ausvc.exe (virus)

Does anyone know how to fix this???

what damage is it doing to my system??

This is a non-destructive Trojan, according to Trend Micro

You can find an automatic removal tool here

http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=TROJ_...

Then you need to update your virus definitions,
or get yourself some virus protection software
if you actually don't have anything.
