Post by Lev Yuna » Fri, 12 Feb 1999 04:00:00

Hello

I disconnected one session and it had marked as "KILLED".
And this session continued lock object that it worked. Also I terminated
client program
too but nothing happened.
I want session dissapper only and unlock my objects without restart DB.
I remember there is parameter for init.ora that define time to wait client
answer.
Does it help? What can help?

Best wishes, Lev.

P.S. May it FAQ but I couldn't find.

In the sqlnet.ora you specify the sqlnet.expiry_time parameter.
It introduces some overhead, since sqlnet will now send probes at specific
intervals so chcek whether you are still alive.

1. kill session vs kill session immediate

Got confused for the following:

- alter system kill session 'sid, serial#'

- alter system kill session 'sid, serial#' immediate

- alter system disconnect session 'sid, serial#' immediate
