So can I re-create unix.prd? Surely I don't have to re-install?

The unix.prd file shows you what you have available to be
installed/uninstall... not what is installed... that comes from the
unix.rgs file. you should be able to take the unix.prd file off your
installation cd-rom and put it back in the directory (orainst).

1. Oracle Installer - Failed to create unix.prd
Oracle 8.0.3
Solaris 2.5.1
We are attempting to install Oracle, however just before the software
asset manager
opens we are getting the error
'unable to create unix.prd'
we can not see any errors in the logs.
We manually copied the unix.prd file to the orainst directory and we got
to the asset
manager screen however when we tried to install from there we got
another error
'orainst.vrf(0): File_not_found orainst No such file or directory'
Any help on the matter would be appreciated
