by POSITION: Software Engineer
JOB SUMMARY: The candidates will be members of a fast paced team
responsible for increasing system availability from 99.9% to near
fault tolerance (99.999%). This will require a crisp definition of the
problem and follow through with a solution definition in architecture,
design and implementation.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Software Engineers with demonstrated
backgrounds in high availability or FAULT TOLERANT SOFTWARE
TECHNOLOGIES (architecture, design, and implementation) coupled with
typical software skills in C, C++, Java, and CORBA. A plus will be
engineers with experience in operating systems (HPUX-11) and or
database technologies (Oracle) particularly with an understanding of
managing redundant databases in a distributed environment. The
candidate should possess the desire to research existing solutions to
high availability and fault tolerant distributed databases. Strong
teamwork and a demonstrated ability to synthesize architectures and
designs from existing solutions are required. Commitment to diversity
is expected. Experience or exposure to reliability modeling techniques
would be a plus to aid in predicting the end result. Knowledge of IN
services and technology would be beneficial
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: BS/MS Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Equivalent
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Five 95) Years+
