My employer, a biomedical software firm in the Sorrento Valley area of
San Diego, California, currently has an opening for a senior Oracle
software engineer.  The job description is as follows:

Must-have skills:  Oracle, stored procedures, triggers, SQL, PL/SQL,
Unix or Linux, relational database design tools (Oracle Designer or
equivalent), C/ProC, Unix Shells (csh, ksh), create functional specs,
create detail design specs, conduct design reviews, conduct code
reviews, QA / create test designs.  Should have delivered designs from
concept to completion.  Should be able to work with marketing and other
business owners.  Ability to mentor less experienced team members.  Must
be able to work in an environment where schedule and quality are
critical.  Ability to work in an open office space.  Desirable skills:
Perl, HTML, Java, JavaScript, OCI, OO4O, ODBC, JDBC, XML Schemas, XML
Parsers, Apache (preferred), HTTP, scientific application development,
biotech, pharma, biology, source code control (RCS, VSS, CVS).  Should
be able to follow a systematic method and have worked with an
established process.
