Description: The manager of the Distributed Database Administration function needs to be a hands-on team leader who can lead and enhance database support, manage implementation projects and guide and deliver a database architecture to ensure that the best use is made of the systems and database resources.
Distributed Database Administration team within Technical Services provides all administration services for the Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server and UDB database engines. These databases are central components to all E-commerce application services and numerous other critical applications. Database administration implements, supports and manages the database for these applications. Key functions include performance tuning, monitoring, space management, entitlement management, software and license management and issue resolution. The DBAs work on all projects with database components and provide 7x24 support to the distributed database systems.
8+ years of IT Distributed Database Management with some management skills.
Knowledge fo most of Oracle, Sybase, Sql-Server, UDB/DB2.
Unix (Solaris/Aix,HP-UX,Linux), Windows/NT/2000.
Capacity Planning,Configurations, Implementations.
Ability to write SQL queries and or UNIX scripts.
Replication tools Oracle Streams, Shareplex.
Experience with EMC/SRDF technologies.
