SQL Quick Reference Guide

Dear all,

Back in the 'good old days' of 7.1, Oracle produced a small booklet as part
of its documentation set.  This basically had all the syntax diagrams for
the 7.1.X release in a small booklet and was the most useful Oracle
reference book, although I can't remember what it was called!  Since then,
Oracle has stopped producing it.

Does anyone know if this information exists in a booklet or file somewhere
for 8i or 9i?

Kind regards,

Neil Weston

Hi,

I know what you mean, i have the last of that 'paper' line, Oracle 8
SQL Quick Reference.

Not sure of any booklets, try http://tahiti.oracle.com/ for a
searchable online one or you should be able to find a PDF file on all
subjects at technet.oracle.com

Not to plug any particular book, but I have found

ORACLE Desk Reference
The Professional's Companion
by Guy Harrison
( Published by Prentice Hall PTR ( www.phptr.com) ( ISBN 0-13-013294-2 )

to be the best quick reference I have ever used...

It covers 7,8,and 8i and is not limited to Sql - It covers most aspects of Oracle usage ( DDL,DML,Sql,Pl/Sql,Java, etc)

SQL Quick Reference Guide

Neil,

The result of my search was the pocket references published by
O'Reilly. There are several to choose from. Each prices at $10 - $13.
At about 100 pages, one will fit your vest pocket. A few that I have
are:
Oracle SQL Plus
oracle SQL Tuning
Oracle PL/SQL Language
Oracle DBA Checklists

Hope this helps.

1. Replication Server Quick Reference Guide: updated

The QuickRef Guide for RepServer 11.0 has been updated and is available from
(modified URL) www.euronet.nl/~syp_rob/rs_qref.html. It appears there have
been some problems recently due to a invalid link, but this should be fixed
now.

This version of the QuickRef Guide contains many corrections, and is also a
lot easier to assemble (no more manual cutting & pasting) because it's in a

for the suggestion).

I'm working on an updated version for RepServer 11.5. No promises as to when
it will be ready, but I'll post a message...

Regards,

Rob
