Organizational Context
Member of a self-directed team Data Warehouse team reporting to the
Application Group Manager. The Data Warehouse Team is responsible for
providing end users with structured and ad-hoc access to reporting data for
the entire enterprise. The platform is Oracle8 RDBMS on HP-UX with
Brio.Insight for reporting. A steering committee of field and corporate key
users is in place to help provide direction and prioritize projects.

Responsibilities
Manage data warehouse activities in Oracle8 (extract and load processes,
source-to-target mapping, data quality). Primary focus is on Informatica
PowerMart and custom-written processes that load an Oracle8 data warehouse.
Work closely with business users, team members, and Oracle DBA's, to
design, develop, and implement changes to the data warehouse.
Participate in Data Architecture for the data warehouse and Data Modeling
using Oracle Designer/2000.
Provide off-hours on-call support every third week.
Knowledge
B.S. in related field or comparable work experience.
Relational database, data warehousing, and procedural programming concepts
and techniques.
Database tuning techniques (preferred).
Logical database design (data modeling) techniques. (desirable)
Consumer packaged goods industry knowledge.(desirable)
Familiarity with HP-UX and Oracle8 environments a plus.
Skills
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
Strong relational database programming skills (typically acquired over 2
to 4 years of professional experience).
Intermediate Oracle database programming skills (typically acquired over 1
year of professional experience with Oracle PL/SQL).
Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) skills (typically acquired over 1-2
years of professional experience in data warehousing).
Data Architecture and Data Modeling skills (typically acquired over 1-2
years of professional experience in data warehousing).
UNIX shell scripting skills (preferred).
Perl scripting skills (desirable).
