Very Computer

I have an installation running Net8 Easy Config and everything works
fine, except on the 2 newest machines.  They are Pentium 4, 1.4 ghz.
processors.  I have swapped hard drives into P III 866 computers and
the software works fine, and also taken the P III hard drives and
installed them into the P IV machines and they cause an illeagle
operation.

Is there a patch, fix, or upgrade needed/available?

Please help.

Seems to be a JRE problem. Try to install a different JRE and put its path
before Oracle's so that system will find java.exe in this new JRE install
instead of Oracle's version. Also you may try to upgrade the Oracle client
software - it may upgrade bundled JRE as well...

The "fix" Oracle gave me for this problem was to edit the tnsnames.ora file manually.
I came across this bug when trying to install Designer 6i Rel4.1 on a Pentium 4 PC.
There is another bug 1852153 which prevents the installation of the export/import
software.  Oracle seems to be aware of the problems and it working on a fix.
