Raw Disk for Tablespace datafile on HP-UX 10.20

Raw Disk for Tablespace datafile on HP-UX 10.20

Post by Choi Tai-Su » Tue, 28 Oct 1997 04:00:00

I have a machine which is a HP D370 with three 4GB disks.
On first disk, there are OS and Oracle Server. The other two disks will be
used as data disks.
I know that I can use LVM and use logical volume for datafile, but the two
disks will be only used as datafile for oracle and there will be no change
in that configuration in 2 years, I think.

So, anyone knows if I can use a raw disk (without even partitioning) as
datafile? If I can, then how?
