How much more memory does Oracle 8i require compared to 8.05 on NT?

RAM
Typical installation: 96 MB (128 MB recommended)
Minimal installation: 64 MB (96 MB recommended)
Note: You can complete installation on a 64MB machine, but you cannot run
Oracle Universal Installer and the database assistants during the same
installation session. To run the assistants on a 64MB machine, complete
installation, then when asked if you want to create a database, answer No.
After installation is completed and Oracle Universal (interMedia, Spatial,
etc.) are not installed during a Minimal installation. If you want to
install any of the options, do so after completing a Minimal installation.
Custom installation: depends on components selected for installation.
Oracle 8.0.5
------------
48 MB RAM

hat I am looking for is how much more 8i takes in memory overhead (not
countinf shared pool size(db block buffers). I am going to install Oracle
8.05 (or 8i) on my laptop for testing/development purposes. I have been
uisng 8.05 on 128 MB and know how much it will take (not that much as
long as I don't do any heavy work), for example I have Oracle started and
it has only allocated about 20MB (idle). If 8i would allocale let say 96
MB when idle I would probably install 8.05 instead. My laptop has 128 MB
RAM so it will run but I don't want it to up to much memory.

1. Connect to Oracle 8i w/CS 8.05
I have a client who is using Oracle 8i on site. We provide a solution
which works fine on 8.05.00. Client wants to know if I can go out and
install our software on their 8i db, and use 8.05.00 client to connect
to it.
I've not played with 8i as of this point, and so I don't have a clue.
I'm going out to the client site this weekend, so I'll try it the
old-fashioned way... but if anyone has any experience with this, I'd
appreciate it.
Based on my exposure to Oracle over the years (since 7.1), it's been
pretty well cool in terms of versions of client connecting to servers,
but...8i I don't know anything about!
TIA,
Buck
