Toad is great, but it was better when the latest and complete version of
Toad was free. Now you either pay Quest $800 for the latest and greatest or
have a version that is 1 release older for free.

Obviously you think no one should have to pay for software. But Quest
does pay their developers to enhance the product, don't they?

shell out $100/yr for the tool, and might be able to justify $200, but $800
is way too rich for my *, so I use the free version.

All those that agree ... can post the number of hours of their time they are
willing to donate to creating a product that will compete head-on with TOAD and
SQL*Navigator. If you won't donate your time to the project ... stop
complaining about the price.

hello,

you may have a look at TORA at sourceforge

it is a Toad clone and is available for linux and wixi.
(for wixi the latest version is only free for personal use)
