Version Comparison

Greetings,

I haven't worked on Oracle before, and I am wondering where I can find a
version-to-version comparison.  There are so many different types, spanning
from 9i, server, etc.  Oracle.com doesn't really tell you the differences
between them, and I was wondering if anyone could either answer this
question, or point me in the right direction.  Thanks

I am not aware of any such resource. Many people make decisions based upon
which versions are supported for their hardware platform and operating system.
I can only think of one reason to not go with Oracle 8.1.7 ... it isn't
available for your hardware and O/S.

Talk to a local oracle rep.  Preferably a Sales Consultant (SC).  The have access
to the Corporate Repsitory at Oracle and they have a document called "New
Features" which compares the current product to previous.

THAT is the reason to change your hardware/OS platform, from obsolete to

1. Holos - latest version - comparison with Gentia, Lightship

Does anybody have any information on the latest
version of Holos. I saw it a couple of years ago
and thought that it lagged behind its competition,
particularly in terms of its development
environment. How does it compare with products like
Gentia and Lightship. Are there features and
functions that Holos has which are not avialable in
these other products.
