Oracle 8 installation on NT 4.0

Post by Nghi V » Thu, 18 Feb 1999 04:00:00

I try to install Oracle 8 Enterprise Edition on my Dell CPiD laptop
running Windows NT 4.0, service package 4.

The installation gave me an error message box title "datechkw".  The
error message is "Files\ORANT\verchk.ini not exist.
Files\ORANT\verchk.ini contains invalid path".

When I close the message box, I got another error message box:
"...... ModResult environment variable not found."

The CD I got is the trial & buy one.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Thanks,

Beware of SP4.  If you can, go back to SP3.

We've thought too hard.  It is very simple.  Not all software like the
path like
"C:\Program Files\...."

Just select the default Oracle home is C:\orant or something without
space in the middle, it will do just fine

1. Microsoft SQL server 7.0 installation fails on NT 4.0 sp6a + nt optionpack

Hi All

I have a mysterious problem with Microsoft SQL server 7.0 and a NT 4.0 sp6a
+ option pack.

After installation MMC fails with an dr. watson error.

The only fix is to replace the mmc.exe and other mmc files in
c:\winnt\system32. This will get the mmc back running, but leaves the SQL
server cripled.

Does anyone have a fix to this problem ?

Best regards,
Uffe
