Delphi 3 and Access Tables

Post by Jose R. Nebr » Sat, 24 May 1997 04:00:00

Hi all,

I thought that delphi 3 had a native Access driver.  I do not find in the
tables the type for access.  I did try to use the database explorer and
went to the drivers page and I found a list of drivers there, but they
seemed ODBC.  I got Delphi 3 (among other things) because the literature
said "NATIVE ACCESS DRIVER" .

How do you set it up so that you can access the ACCESS tables?

I would appriciate if somebody would be kind enough to give me some
directions.

Thanks

Jose,

Look again - its called MSACCESS! I have Delphi 3 Professional it may
not be in the Standard version, which version are you using. There are
also ODBC drivers set up by the BDE, so be carefull you don't select and
ODBC alias.

Does this mean it is possible to CREATE and R/W an Access database or
can I only read data from an existing DB?
