Paradox Access from VB 5.0/Jet

Paradox Access from VB 5.0/Jet

Post by Christopher C. Smit » Tue, 20 Jan 1998 04:00:00

I am trying to write data to a Paradox table that has #'s in the field
names. The a SQL insert or update chokes with an unknown column name
error. The bracketed field [] technique does not work.

Anyone solved this one?

1. VB 5.0 & Access/Jet engine - some questions

Hi.

If I understand the books regarding VB 3.0/4.0 it is NOT possible to
CREATE a database using these versions/editons - not even witht he
enterprise/Pro versions?  Is this correct?  How about for VB 5.0?

Relative to using Access/Jet Engine, it is my current understanding a
version of Access or MS Office Pro 95/97 (that comes with Access) is
required to use VB 5.0 to create databases.  Plus a special
development/licensing kit is required fro around $500 (or more) to avoid
royality fees.

Can you strighten me out on this stuff?  Thanks.
