I've got a program that uses a database with unbound controls, I need to
import a text file (that's in a certain format) into the database. I've got
the import part working great. Once I added the below listed code to check
for duplicates the program crawled to almost a halt... Once the database
gets more then about 2-3 hundred items in it, it can take up to 5 min (or
more) to add another 2-3 hundred items while checking for duplicates.
Does anybody have any better method for checking to see if "prompt" is
already in the database?
Do Until frmTest.database.Recordset.EOF
If frmTest.url.Caption = prompt Then
stat = 1
Screen.MousePointer = vbDefault
Exit Sub
Else
frmTest.database.Recordset.MoveNext
End If
Loop
--
Thanks
