error 429: activex component cannot create object

Post by ibl.. » Sun, 19 Dec 1999 04:00:00

i'm trying to install an application that uses ado to access an MSAccess
database.

location of the database is hardcoded for now and the file is located
there.
i made a package with the package&deployment wizard, but when i
installed the application on another computer which only had windows 95b
installed on it, and tried to run it i got the following
errormessagewhen i click on a button that should (among other things)
open the database file and display the contents of it in some way.

---------------------------------
|            Runtime error '429'                                |
|
|
| ActiveX component can't create object.      |
---------------------------------

Installed:

Win95b and thats all...

Did you install DCOM95 and MDAC_TYPE?

Hope this helps,
Anthony

if all else fails, try installing IE 5.X and the ado 2.1 ADO objects from
microsoft web site.

Garry,
Let me quote from my response to you to a private email you sent me (and
please refrain from sending me messages directly to my email box):

I am not sure why this was sent to me.  I was not asking the question.

Thanks,
Anthony

1. Error:429 ActiveX component cannot create object

Dear Friends
We have developed a project in vb5 using Dao350.dll,for my database
reference. Now from nowhere this kind of error:"Error:429 ActiveX
component cannot create object" is displayed when the project is
executed/run.We have made no changes in Dao object library.
After a desperate search to trace the error we have discovred that
the absence of Msjt3032.dll is creating the problem. But when we placed
the same file a non-vb machine where we had done the setup of our
applicaton it continues to generate the same message.
   Please help us.
   Thank you.
