"Corrupt file - other than header" -- What To Do?

Post by Jim Tubma » Fri, 12 Apr 1996 04:00:00

My Delphi 1.0 application has started coughing up an error with the message
"Corrupt file - other than header."  The file that it names as the culprit
is a Paradox for Windows 5 table; it opens up under the Database Desktop,
and the DD doesn't complain about it.

What could be causing this, and how can it be fixed?

1. '"Corrupt file other than header"

Version   :    Paradox 7, Win95/NT.
BDE        :     4.00
Platform  :    NT 4.0 SP3

I'm trying to import a TEXT FILE using the FIXED FILE FORMAT import.  The
text file is 256 Meg.  I have previously been importing the same file at
over 200 Meg, but recently increased its size to 256.   I get to record
192,992 and it gives the message "Corrupt file other than header".    I've
checked the actual data file and it is ok (mainframe dataset) and I have
downloaded it more than once to ensure no corruption within the download.

I believe it could be a limitation of the BDE settings, as long ago when I
spoke to Borland, they originally directed me to change BDE settings to get
the file when it was 200 Meg.   But i've been modifying them to no avail.
Has anyone had anything similar ?
