Can't process multiple result sets when first resultset is empty

Using RDO (cursor type set to "UseOdbc"), SQLServer 6.5 in VB4
processing the following result set.....

name          id
-------------- --------

(0 rows(s) affected)

name          id
-------------- ---------
fred            1
burt            0

(2  row(s) affected)

The usual way to skip to the next result set is to call the MORERESULTS
method of RESULTSET. BUT! Hey! HEY! When the first result set is empty,
calling MORERESULTS returns....

"Runtime error 40022 resultset is empty"

So, just how do DO I skip an empty result set??

Please help!

Mark
