when using the microsoft datalink file to make a connection string:

i get this error when trying to connect to oracle8 db with 'oledb provider
for oracle'

"error while trying to retrieve text for error ORA-03121"

it connects ok when 'oledb provider of odbc' is used with a data source.

i have mdac 2.51.5303.0

i thank you for any help in this matter.

Hi,

I had a look into my documentation and found the following:

Cause: This message occurs usually because the SQL*Net driver is not loaded
into memory or there is a mismatch of the version of the driver. A user
program linked with an obsolete library may also cause this message. Only
programs provided by Oracle Corporation should use this interface.

I should try to reinstall SQL*Net, and try again.
Keep me updated of the proceedings...
