error 845

error 845

Hello!

The above mentioned error ocur since we have a high performance SAN attachet
to our database. The error will rise every night in the moment our
SQL-Server 7 make a full dump and concurrent a client try to make some
transaktions.

We gues that the Server do not have enougth time (because of the dump) to
handle the client request.

Does someone have seen this problem befor (and have a idea for a
workaround)?

thank you

 I assume you mean "

845   17  Time out occurred while waiting for buffer latch type %d for page
%S_PGID, database ID %d, object ID %d, index ID %d."

Do you have SP3 applied to SQL 7 already?  Your best bet would be to call this
in to MS PSS as it can't really be debugged via newsgroup support.

MS will probably need a stack dump to see what is going on - see the
traceflagy FAQ entry for how to get one.
