Full-Text Searching

Post by Dixo » Fri, 13 Sep 2002 03:03:56

Does anyone know if SQL 7.0 Enterprise supports full-text
searching in a clustered environment?

The SQL Books Online states "Currently, the SQL Server 7.0
Full-Text Search support cannot be used in a Windows NT
Server, Enterprise Edition clustering environment". This
potentially has changed since the release of SQL 7.0 but I
can not find any mention on Microsoft's support sites and
Technet.

Full-text in SQL 7.0 Enterprise is not supported in a
cluster enviroment, is not cluster aware.

With SQL 2000 full-text is supported and cluster aware.

Bye.

Pedro is correct, SQL 7.0 does not have functionality for Full-Text Search
in a clustered environment.  However that is a feature of SQL 2000.
Thanks!

Donna,

Do you know to what level Full Text Search working in SQL7 clustered
environment? Doesn't work at all, or just cluster-unaware?

Thanks,

Wenlei

Late reply, but better late than never...
Doesn't work at all, and not supported and not cluster-aware.
