Can SQL Server be run on NT Workstation?

Can SQL Server 6.5 be run on NT Workstation, or is it meant to be run
strictly on the NT Server only?

Yes, it runs fine on workstation, but has a limit of 10 incoming
connections enforced by workstation.

Just to get in the pantomime spirit.....

OH YES IT DOES!!!  With no changes at all.

Whatever he's smoking, you may want to try it.  Contrary to your
condescending remark, based on my experience (I've done it), SQL Server
6.5 does in fact work on NT Workstation.  I think that Richard deserves
an apology.

Can SQL Server be run on NT Workstation?

Patrick,

SQL Server runs fine on Workstation, however, last time I checked
Microsoft's licensing  policy was a maximum of ten user connections to NT
at any one time.  However, workstation is fine for personal development, or
testing a small multi-user environment.

Best regards,

Mark

You can run SQL server on a NT workstaion but you can only have 10 users
connection.

There is also a SQL Workstation 6.5 which should be considerably cheaper to
license, however, see if you can find it on the MS web site!

This may be the case but my point was that as I understand it SQL
Workstation is a fully functional version of SQL Server but with a limit to
15 db connections. Certainly for development purposes that is useful and
costs about one third the price of SQL Server.
