FRONT-END AND BACK-END MSDE

Post by Slim » Thu, 24 Oct 2002 22:26:11

Well, I noticed that when I installed MSDE in my work machine, the name of
the Server and the Service they were inserted automatically by the
instalador of MSDE (informed in SQL SERVER SERVICE MANAGER).

Please help me, I need to conclude these tests so that I can leave for
the system in definitive. In my users' machines it will rotate my FRONT-END
and BACK-END (BD) it will be in the server that can be my machine in this
example. Become trained as doing to configure a name for the so much Server
in my machine as in my users' machine so that FRONT-END can access BACK-END.
Reminding that don't have SQL SERVER 2000 and I am just working with MSDE in
all the machines.

Excuse for asking you so many details; it is that am still crawling " with
MSDE.

Slim,

I can't determine what you are asking, I am sorry I don't know your native
language. If you don't have access to a friend who can help you write this
question with better English, perhaps you might try one of the web-based
translation services? http://babelfish.altavista.com/ provides text
translation.

Taking a stab though, here is documentation on working with named and
default instances of SQL Server. This documentation applies to MSDE as well:

1. SQL7 backend/Access 2000 front end #of records prob

Hi all:
I have a db created through Access 2000 using SQL 7 as the backend and
Access 2000 as the front end interface.  I set the number of records to be
unlimited, however we have entered 86 records and it will not let us add any
more.  We have no SQL gurus here, wondering if any of you have any
suggestions of what I should look  at - back end or front end - to solve
this problem.

TIA for any help,
K. McCarthy
