John,

There is an entire whitepaper by Microsoft on Migrating from ORACLE

http://www.microsoft.com/sql/interopmigrate/oraclemigrate.htm

Download the whitepaper and you should be in a much better position to do
the migration

I am using Oracle. I would like to migrate to SQL 6.5/7.0

How would I do it? Is there any utility by which I can do the tranfer?

I tried using Tools --> Object Transfer --> Foreign Source. But giving
the Oracle IP does not work.

Anybody who has done it before..?

Thanks in advance

Johns - In addition, the BORK 4.5 SQL Book has a chapter on this as well to
help with the migration over.

1. Osql replaces line feed with carriage return + line feed

Hello,

I have a insert statement like:

insert into temp values ('Abc\ndef') - where \n is the line feed symbol

When I execute this statement with query analyzer - it puts the value into
database exactly as defined.

But when I execute the statement with osql utility reading it from input
file the osql replaces the \n with \r\n and puts this into database.

Is there anyway to tell osql not to do it?

Btw, I'm 100% sure that in the text file there is no \r and it's not some
text editor problem.
