Error 21770 name not in database collection during XFERAGNT

Post by Mark Hripk » Sat, 14 Jun 1997 04:00:00

I try to run the Transfer Agent (using Tools, Object Database Transfer)
between two indentical 6.5 SP3 systems.

Every time it runs (regardless of which machine tries to initiate the
transfer) it scrips for a while and then says

ERROR 21770 The Name "sportsdb" was not found in the
Databases collection

Process Aborted.

(it turns out that "sportsdb" is the name of the actual
database container that contains all of the tables that I'm
trying to tranfer.

Remember, IM NOT PROGRAMMING.  IM USING THE SQL OBJECT TRANSFER
DIALOG AND TELLING IT TO TRANSFER ALL OJBECTS FROM server_1 to
server_2...

I cannot find anything about this error message and I cannot
get the transfer to work.

I'm desperate to get this working.

Can someone give me a clue and help.

Any ideas on what to do...?

1. Error 21770 name not in database collection...

That kind of error message is generally an Enterprise manager error.  SP3
patched enterprise manager and replaced some .dlls in the binn directory,
so perhaps a new problem was introduced.  If you can't get it to work, try
installing SEM on another machine (just install the client utils) and DON'T
patch it with SP3.  If that works, please re-post so I can escalate this
issue to MS.

Good Luck!
