thought someone here might already know the answer:
About 4 years ago we bought quite a few unlimited user server licenses
for SQL Server 4.2 for OS/2. We actually own the equivalent of more
than three times the number of seats we have, and now that we want to
upgrade to 6.5 it would be much cheaper to upgrade the seats and
servers separately, since unlimited user server licenses cost more
than 6 times what they used to. Is it possible to convert some of the
unlimited user server licenses into separate server and client access
licenses? I guess it's sort of like converting the per connection
licenses to per user licenses for NT, which you can do.
