Help needed: Centura SQLBASE 7.50 to MS-SQL 7.0 SP2 via DTS

Help needed: Centura SQLBASE 7.50 to MS-SQL 7.0 SP2 via DTS

can anyone help ???
were trying to import from centura sqlbase 7.5 to ms-sql 7.0.
when importing via Data Transformation Service (DTS) the DTS connects first
via ODBC to SQLBASE and then via direct connect to a local MS-SQL Database.
Then DTS creates the first table selected without any problems. After that
the DTS seems to drop the odbc connection and no data can be transferred. If
selecting more than one table the dts hangs after creating the first table
and trying to create the second table.
Weve been trying this with the following ODBC Drivers:
Centura SQLBase 3.01 32-bit Driver -NT & Win95 Version 3.01.00.06 and
Centura SqlBase 3.5 32-bit Driver -NT & Win95 Version 3.50.00.000. Importing
from Datasources other than Centura via ODBC seems to work fine.Scince we
are willing to migrate our front end application to use both sql servers it
would be very important for us to fully import our existing database into
ms-sql. please help anyone !!!
thx in advance

Help needed: Centura SQLBASE 7.50 to MS-SQL 7.0 SP2 via DTS

From your description below it sounds as if there's a lockout problem: for the first
table import, MS-SQL opens a connection and all works well. But when it tries to
open another connection for the second table import, there's a lockout because of
the first connection. What's odd is that you say that "Importing from Datasources other
than Centura via ODBC seems to work fine." That makes it sounds like a SQLBase
and/or router problem and I don't have an answer for that.

One (slow) solution/workaround would be to import via DTS one table at a time. Another
solution might be to export the SQLBase data to a CSV/unload file, and import to
MS-SQL using that file.

Hope you find a solution to your problem.

1. Centura/Gupta SQLBase to MS SQL 6.5

Does anyone know of a way to convert a Centura/Gupta SQLBase DB to a MS SQL
6.5 DB?  I have worked in MS SQL a little, I mostly work with Access
though(I know it's not a REAL DB like SQL, but I'm not a REAL programmer
like you all).  It is just beyond my limited scope of DB knowledge.  If
there is a utility out there that will do it that would be great too.
Thanks in advance.
