i'm trying to remotely install sql server 7 client software.
on the page where you have to fill in the target/source specifications, I
always get an error "invalid UNC path", although I use the format
//computername/sharename (cd rom drive)/setup/x86/"
any ideas are appreciated ...

1. MDAC Installation problems - Trying to install only SQL SERVER 2000 Client Tools

Hi All,

We have a SQL SERVER running on site, I have tried to
install only the client tools to connect to the server
using the Both the Enterprise and development edition
Cd's. But everytime it fails on MDAC installation.

I run a windows 2000 machine and may have MDAC 2.5 or 2.6
running on my machine. I have tried installing only MDAC
2.6 on my machine but this rolls back towards the end of
the installation.

Any ideas as to why I can't install only client tools for
SQL SERVER - DO I NEED A PATCH???? and why I am having
MDAC installation problems????/

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Martin.
