Invalid Default Measure Value when changing Measure Name

Invalid Default Measure Value when changing Measure Name

Post by Lee Shuc » Wed, 06 Feb 2002 03:59:07

With Analysis Server 2000 I am getting a message 'Invalid
Default Measure Value' when I chnage the name of a
Measure 'Sub' to anything else.  I deleted the measure and
re-created it and got the same results.

Does anyone know what mught be causing this?

Thanks,

Lee Shuck

Invalid Default Measure Value when changing Measure Name

Lee,

It sounds like you have used the old name of your measure somewhere in the
cube's Default Measure property (to see this, open the cube editor and it's
the last property on the list under the 'Basic' tab when you have the cube
itself selected in the treeview). Before you change the name of the measure,
blank out the value of the property but keep whatever expression is in
there; you should probably not see an error message then when you make the
change, and you can edit the expression used for the Default Member to refer
to the new measure name.

HTH,

Chris

Thanks Chris - I guess that should have been obvious ;-).  I didn't set
the cube up initially, and I wasn't familiar with the default measure.
