How to upsize access 2.0 to Sql Server 6.5

Post by Gaz » Thu, 15 Jun 2000 04:00:00

I have an Access 2 database and need to move it on to SQL Sever 6.5

The access database have a VB 4 16bit front end, will this need ammending or
can I just link to SQL server through access/ODBC links?

Thanks

Gary

1. Upsizing from Access 2.0 to SQL Server 6.5

We are using Access 2.0 and want to use the upsizing tools to migrate
to SQL Server 6.5 using Access 97 as the front end. I'd consider using
a different DB, but I don't have the time to learn a new DBMS.
    - Has anybody done such a migration?
    - do the upsizing tools work as advertised?
    - does the Access front end slow down queries at all?

Any other comments are greatly appreciated. Please email me directly.
