Sql job out is binary

How can I get the output from SQl job to not be binary?  I have on numerous
occasions needing to get info out of various job output files, but am very
limited how I can do it - other then opening it up in Notepad and searching
manual for what I need - painful.

Thanks for any help.

My job logs are .txt files in ASCII text.  Are you sure you are not talking
about the "report" that you can ask for?  That is, I believe, in crystal
report format which is why it appears binary to you.

Yes, I can pull the output up in Notepad - but it has binary characters in it - which doesn't allow for me to do stuff with it externally.

Does your output have little binary square characters?

I believe that is because it is outputing a crystal report format.  Crystal
Reports comes with Back Office to allow you to read those.
