SQL Server service stops with no reason

SQL Server service stops with no reason

Post by Marco Kievi » Fri, 30 Jan 1998 04:00:00

Has anyone experience with the next problem.

We've got an SQL Server (6.5) for some internet/intranet applications.
Everything is going well, but suddenly after some days the SQL Server
service stops, with no single interferance by any user. This happens a
couple of times now.
We doesn't have to restart the server but only have to start the service to
have SQL Server back in bussiness.

SQL Server 6.5 with SP2 is running on a stand-alone NT 4 server with SP3
with I.I.S. 3.0 running.

Please, can anyone help us!!

Try SQl 6.5 Sp4, but are there no messages in the SQL errorlog to
indicate why it stopped/crashed?

1. Sql Server 7 stops for no reason

From time to time sql server 7 will give you a general
network error when you try to connect to it, but when I
check the server manager they are all running from what I
see. Does anyone have any idea why this happens?
