Post by Gabo » Fri, 14 Jun 2002 17:34:23

Hi group,

Does anybody know how I can reindex system tables on
SQL2K SP2?

I have SAP running on which has 18000 tables so my system
tables are extremly fregmanted.
Ex:
DBCC SHOWCONTIG scanning 'sysobjects' table...
Table: 'sysobjects' (1); index ID: 1, database ID: 7
TABLE level scan performed.
- Pages Scanned................................: 3428
- Extents Scanned..............................: 448
- Extent Switches..............................: 3427
- Avg. Pages per Extent........................: 7.7
- Scan Density [Best Count:Actual Count].......: 12.51%
[429:3428]
- Logical Scan Fragmentation ..................: 51.49%
- Extent Scan Fragmentation ...................: 99.11%
- Avg. Bytes Free per Page.....................: 2666.9
- Avg. Page Density (full).....................: 67.05%

Any idea?

Thanx

Gabor

Hi ,

It's so sorry that there is no good way to do reindex on system tables.
