URGENT - Communication Link Failure error more prevalent since SQL 2000 Upgrade

Can anyone explain why this is happening more? We are using MDAC 2.6

Did you upgrade the clients as well?  What net-lib and version of odbc/ole-db
do you have on the clients?

Is your problem where you have a screnful of data in Access or Ent Manager
and the data disappears to conserve server resources, then when you refresh
you get a message saying "communications link failure"

This happened to us, checking the options for Boost priority and NT fibers
on the processor tab of the server properties revealed these had become set
in the upgrade process where in fact the server is a single processor
machine. These options appear to be only recommended for multi-processor
machines. Try changing these settings then stopping and restarting the
server

Well you still have the 7.0 net-libs, so try installing the SQL 2000 ones.
