Hello all

Does any one know of any negative issues related to MDAC 2.6 and SQL 6.5
installed on Win NT 4.0.  I am doing a fresh installation of NT and SQL for
a web development group and I would like to know if MDAC 2.6 is compatible
with SQL 6.5.

In my experience if you install mdac 2.6 you may have serious problem whith
old project
written with vb6 and mdac 2.5.
example: try to make a connection to a table in a sql 7.0 using the
dataenvironment with a simple query command (aduseserver,keyset, optimistic)
and the application fail with the error of vb6.exe etc.

 Yes it is.  I install all my workstations with MDAC 2.6 and it seems to work fine.

Hello Pascal
We are also running SQL 6.5 and have the access through MDAC 2.6. No Problem
experienced.
If you have Projects with a older ADO version, just recompile them with the
new ADO 2.6 Version.
This worked with several Project, no Problem experienced.

The only thing you should not forget is to run INSTCAT.SQL against your 6.5
server. Besides that it works fine for me.

If you use Crystal Reports with groups or use Access with linked tables, you
have a great problem!!!!
