install 6.5 eval on pc with workstation already loaded

Can I load the eval copy of 6.5 on my PC (yes, it runs NT) without it
changing the current client workstation settings of SQL?  What I would like
to do is to load the SQL Server portion on my PC, and be able to point to
the eval 6.5 on my pc OR the actual SQL Server box on the network.

If I load this into a separate directory would I be OK?
