howto changig LocalSystem to administrator

Post by Gessnitz » Mon, 03 Feb 2003 09:58:13

Hi
I have upgraded my SQL 2000 machine from windows 2000 to XP
Professional running not in an domain. I must run the SQL200 under the
local administrator account. Changing the server-account from
LocalSystem to Administrator gives me the error no. 15407 'not a valid
name'. Does anybody have any ideas how to write the correct local
administrator account.

thanks in advance
Daniel

Daniel--

Try ".\Administrator" (without the quotes).

Daniel,

To establish an account to start up SQL Server on Windows XP, that will NOT
show up on the local LOGON screen:

Start | Settings | Control Panel:

using Category View: Performance and Maintenance | Administrative Tools |
Local Security Policy | User Rights Assignment | Logon as a service, and |
Deny logon locally

1. Changig from /opt to /db/i_01

We can't change the db files from /opt to /db/i_01.
The database was before on /opt and /opt1. Now we'd like
to install the whole db on /db/i_01 and /db/i_02, but
it doesn't work at all.

Regards
Pat
