How do you return the first 500 records from a select query?

I am using SQL Server 6.5.

Issue a "SET ROWCOUNT 500" command on the connection.

1. Ldap Returns just 500 Records!!!!

i'm trying to extract records from LDAP To Put them on a SQL DB, but LDAP always returns 500 records!!!!
even if i've more than 45000
is it possible to configure LDAP To Do this
N.B: i don't use a max records
10x
