I tried creating a publishing subscribing environnement, but i get the
message raiserror (14152, 18, 1, 'Distribution',
'SERVER2_pubs_SERVER3_ReceiveD', 6, '08001[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server
Driver][dbnmpntw]ConnectionOpen (CreateFile()).') when i do a trace and
the publication i subscribe cannot be created.

The servers are linked by TCP/IP.

What does this message mean?
Why can't it create the article?

This error usually means that the ODBC driver fails to login on the server.

You are running Named Pipes over TCP/IP.  In order for to use Named Pipes,
the client has to be able to open the pipe on the server (by default this
pipe is \\SERVERNAME\PIPE\SQL\QUERY).  This open will fail (giving the
message you received) if the client does not have NT credentials for the
server.  As far as I know, these are your options:  1) map a server drive
on the client - you will be prompted for credentials; 2) have the client
and server in the same domain;  3) create an account on the server with the
same username as password as the client PC account;  4) don't use named
pipes - use IP sockets instead.

I think that you need to use the Named Pipes or Mixed libraries to connect
between servers.  Otherwise,  they cannot authenticate one another.

1. [ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNMPNTW]ConnectionOpen (CreateFile()).

We are running SQL 6.5.
Created a data with four tables.

Using Drumbeat 2.0  we have created a record set that inserts and updates
the
database.
The problem is that when we use a browser to connect to the .asp page we get
the following error.

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNMPNTW]ConnectionOpen (CreateFile()).

the following line is is where the error points to.

Our database do not error when we run odbcping.exe.
we can also run the check in the System DSN and everything comes back
SUCCESSFUL.

Are we missing a login somewhere.
We have granted the public access to the database.
and do not have a problem seeing the data tables
or when verifying the statements / queries.
we have tried both Integrated and standard security nothing seems
to be working.

We can use an ACCESS 97 database but would like to have our customers
utilize the latest technology.

Should we even bother with SQL.
We are on our 16 day of troubleshooting this promblem with no success.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the Code!!

 // Check if the connection is valid
 if (this.RSConnection)
 {
  this.RSConnection.Open("dsn="+DSN+";uid="+UID+";pwd="+PWD);
  this.RS = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset");
  if(this.RS)
  {
   //Check the version of ADO
   var version = parseFloat(this.RSConnection.Version);
   if (version > 1.0)
   {
