Connection Error

Post by PatriciaC [MVP - Outlook » Mon, 28 May 2001 15:08:02

I'm very new to SQL Server Administration.  I've built databases before once
the program was installed, but I'm new to installing it myself.  I'm trying
to get a feel for it by installing it on a test server.  When I try to
create a DSN to it I can see the server, but when I try to connect with a
valid SQL server username and password I receive the followingn error:

Connection failed:
SQLState: '28000'
SQL Server Error: 18452
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user
'patricia'.  Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.

Any ideas?  This is SQL Server 2000 installed on a W2K Advanced Server
machine.  I'm trying to connect to it from a W98 machine.

1. Connection Error: Single connection only

I have recently installed the Developer Edition of SQL 6.5 on my NT 4.0
Workstation client. I have the MS Loopback Adaptor installed. The problem
is that SQL is only allowing me one connection. If I go into ISQLw, I can
connect but I can only have 1 query window open. If I go into the
Enterprize Manager, and try to use its query window, I get no databases in
my DB: Dropdown dialog. The Server Manager window apparently used the 1
available connection.
If anyone has a solution, please reply.
